I Should Have Kept Your Habits Fed…

image

“I don’t buy smokes!” (that made sense in my head,
But what did it matter? Now you’re dead.)
We thought we were right, as you lay in that bed–
Should have listened when you said
You needed somethin. Legal meds….
But we were stupid! By love, misled!
I should have kept your habits fed,
Relaxed your mind, and eased my dread,
Now all that’s left are tears to shed,
As we push onwards in your stead…

Gentle Within

image

Some might call me too much for these men,
But though I pop collars outside, I’m gentle within…
In this world, what’s life worth,
Except making true friends?
When you remain alone for too long
That’s when life tends
To make it miserable until the end.

Earth, Wind, Fire

image

Open jar,
Select the tree.
My fingers break it easily.
Pack a bowl;
Earth, wind, fire.
Water bubbles, shifting higher.
Plucks me out the despair sea,
Drifting off–
Calm melancholy.
